Update Note to owners December 20, 2021 by Mike Griner
The Ply Gem Manager of Technical Services & Warranty, Leland Harris, responded to an e-mail on 9/22/21 and I also received a letter acknowedging my claim and requesting a sample of the affected area. Both of these responses are in the file to the right. Basically Play Gem continues to take the position that they are only responsible for the cost of the material. My roofer, CMR, has removed sample tile for my to submit to Ply Gem. He is sending another sample to an independent lab for testing. The sample was sent to Ply Gem today. The cover letter is to the right. An image of the removed and defective tile along with another tile which was broken during removal is to the right. The fading is clearly visible. Using a colorimeter the fading was measured at approximately 20 hunter units, far in excessl of the 4 hunter unit maximum in the warranty. |
